A child custody ruling is expected shortly in the acrimonious Texas divorce battle between Deion Sanders and his wife Pilar. It is expected the judge will rule on who will receive custody of the couple’s three children. The couple has had a very bitter and public divorce, but hopefully this decision will signal the winding down of the couple’s divorce proceedings.
Initially, temporary custody of the two boys was given to Deion, while custody of their daughter was given to Pilar. Their divorce has also instigated physical fights between the two, at least one of which made headlines. A judge, however, ruled that neither party had committed assault. The judge did say that the two had been living in a conflicted situation. Once their child custody hearing is over, the couple will have to head to court once again for the property division process of their divorce.
This Texas divorce has thrust the family into the public spotlight and has highlighted the damage that can sometimes result from living in a situation such as theirs. Hopefully once child custody is settled, this family will be able to get their lives back on track.
Determining child custody is never an easy process, but couples who communicate well with each other can ease the process for themselves as well as their children and keep a marital dissolution from turning bitter. However, as some Texas couples know, communication with a soon-to-be ex is not always easy. So for those who may be struggling with this, it is important to keep in mind that child custody decision should ultimately benefit the children involved more than anyone else. Hopefully the Sanders will be able to come to a fair agreement that works well for their children.
