Jaylen D. Thomas is an Associate Attorney at Scott M. Brown & Associates, where he focuses his practice on family law. He represents clients in a wide range of matters including divorce, child custody, child support, enforcement actions, and modifications. Jaylen combines sharp legal insight with compassionate advocacy, guiding clients through emotionally charged situations with professionalism and care.

Before joining the firm, Jaylen gained extensive litigation experience across multiple practice areas. He previously served as an Associate Attorney at Chamblee Ryan, P.C., where he handled insurance defense litigation involving medical malpractice, commercial trucking, and contractual disputes. His time there sharpened his courtroom skills and reinforced his detail-oriented approach to case strategy and expert coordination.

Jaylen also brings valuable public service experience to his practice. He served as a prosecutor with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in New York, where he managed a high-volume caseload of domestic violence matters, working closely with survivors and advocating for justice. He later transitioned to Legal Services NYC, where he worked as a housing defense attorney, representing tenants in eviction proceedings and protecting the rights of vulnerable populations facing housing insecurity.

Jaylen earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Southern University Law Center, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and graduated in the top 20% of his class. He holds a Bachelor of Science in English from Middle Tennessee State University.

Deeply committed to community engagement, Jaylen serves as the National 1st Vice-President of Men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Incorporated, a nonprofit focused on mentorship and leadership development for young men.
